I was born and brought up in Delhi. I came
to USA in October 1997 when I joined the Lab of Cellular and Molecular
Biophysics at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development.
I went for a year sabbatical to Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas
in 1999-2000. I presently work for Technical Resources Intl. Inc., a CRO for
the Division of AIDS, NIAID,
responsible for regulatory affairs for DAIDS-sponsored human clinical
trials.
I am a molecular
virologist. I am an expert in rafts (membrane microdomains), HIV molecular
biology, gene therapy, virus-derived gene transfer vectors, growing viruses
in tissue culture or eggs, tissue culture, viral fusion assays, sucrose
gradient centrifugation and western, southern and northern blotting and TLC.
I also have experience with
the translational research, namely the transfer of biotechnology from bench
to the consumer. My present work involves in-depth knowledge of FDA
regulatory procedures for the human clinical trials leading to the
development of biomedical products.
I am an organization guru, I like to
organize parties, events, trips, etc and the feedback tells me I am good at
it. I like to travel; I have traveled a lot in the continental US from the
northwest to southeast and from the southwest to northeast. I like to drive
particularly long drives, I like to use to the most the exceptional
opportunity life in USA offers, the ability to drive pretty much anywhere in
the country any time of the day. Life in NIH offers a prospect to know and
befriend people from practically all nationalities, ethnicities, religions
and races. I have been blessed with a few very good friends from all
spectrums of life. I am a movie buff, read mostly political literature and
an avid Internet user. Most of all, I am people’s person, I love to interact
with everyone.
