Ph. D. Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Indian Agricultural Research Institute,  Pusa Campus, New Delhi

M. Sc. Biotechnology from University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Andhara Pradesh

I was born in Andhra Pradesh and traveled extensively as my father was in Army. I had my education in cities such as Amritsar, Bareilly, Secunderabad, Darjeeling, Durgapur, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad and Delhi.   I am a molecular biologist. My Ph.D. work was focused on agricultural biotechnology developing somatic hybrids to transfer disease resistance genes from wild species of Brassica to the cultivated varieties.  I joined Aachen University, Germany in April 2002 and started my postdoctoral career in the field of cloning fatty acid biosynthesis genes.

I am in United States since June 2003. I worked at Moffitt Cancer and Research Center, University of South Florida, Florida  on effect of histone deacetylase inhibitors in leukemia and breast cancer for 6 months.  I moved to NIH in February, 2004 and presently concentrating on Apoptosis in reproductive cells. I routinely do Western Blotting, RT PCR, RACE PCR, Northern  Blotting and the regular molecular biology techniques.

I like listening to old Hindi songs, nature and going for long walks in cool starry nights. I am an extensive traveler and had seen many countries.
