We invite submissions by the members of NIH INDIA community.

For Manthan

• Topics chosen could be on any thing of general interest to our group but should not hurt the sentiments of any part of our or another community. We leave it to the better judgment of submitting author to ensure this.

• Articles are published in the order received. No articles are rejected, unless found unsuitable by the moderators.

• Articles to be considered should be emailed as a word document (NO Max Word limit) to Mukesh Kumar at kumarm@mail.nih.gov.  For any further communications about Manthan, contact Mukesh Kumar.

• Articles are forwarded to our 2 senior moderators (Drs. Krishna BalaKrishnan and Murali Cherukuri) to be examined for appropriateness of content & sentiment. 

• The webmasters edit content for grammatical & formatting issues prior to posting.

• The articles are updated on the second Monday morning every month.

For Picture of the Week

• Original pictures are accepted. Topics could be, but not limited to, nature, people, science, society, travel, festivals and culture.

• Each picture should be accompanied by a short caption.

• Pictures to be considered to this section or any comments should be emailed to Praful Tailor at praf_tailor@yahoo.com. Pictures are published in the order received. Pictures are updated every Monday morning.

For Personality of the Month

• Original articles about any personality from the fields of science, sports, culture, arts, music, society, politics, etc. The person, preferably Indian, but from anywhere, successful by any definition, in his/her field of expertise, could be the focus of the “Personality of the Month” article.  

• Information available on internet, newspapers or other sources can be used however we would like discourage outright plagiarism.

• Articles should be non-political in nature.

• Articles for this sections or any suggestions should be emailed to Kailas Sonawane at sonawank@mail.nih.gov or Moloy Goswami at goswamim@mail.nih.gov

For Calendar of the coming month

• The topic of picture for the calendar could be anything but should be about India. Ideally the picture should represent the month for which the calendar is being created and represent the cultural and/or natural beauty of India.

• The picture need not be original, it could be one downloaded off the internet however original pictures are also very welcome.

• The Picture should be accompanied by a suitable caption describing the picture. The calendar team would edit the caption, if needed.

• All pictures are finalized by a vote within the NISCom.

• The calendar has both Indian and US holidays/days of importance.

• The NIH India Calendar Team: Ruchika Nijhara (coordinator); Akanksha Chaturvedi, Ravi Gutti, Anjali Shukla and Praful Tailor (Picture screeners); Himani Bisht and Saurabh Joshi (holidays, dates).

• The team consists of volunteers and anyone who wants to be a part of the team is welcome, please email the coordinator.

• Any comments about the calendar or for making submissions please email Ruchika Nijhara at nijharar@mail.nih.gov.

• The calendar is ready for upload on the 1^st of every month.
